It’s been a few months since Sara first met with Greg. He wanted to make sure that Sara took a moment to take stock of what they have been learning and how she has been applying the tools. Sometimes it is good to look to the past to see how far you have come. Not to dwell there but simply to see the journey you have taken.
Some of the key techniques we have learned to date are mindful breathing and mindful eating. We have also talked about: playing the scientist, response and reaction, and mind traps – Inner Critic, Habitual Styles of Thinking, Negative Interpretation.
It’s time to start making room in your life for healthy habits. Start to take at least 15 min every day to do mindful breathing and continue to eat one meal mindfully. Listening to our thoughts, sensations and emotions can be uncomfortable. Our instinct is to ignore the pain or hurt. But by drawing our attention to it with compassion, we can actually see it dissipate over time. Greg sends her on her way telling her to practice what she has learned every day with self-love and compassion.
